Troop Reports

The Narrows – May 2025

This May, Troop 410 went on an awesome campout to The Narrows, and the main theme was swimming with a dutch over cookoff! It was a hot weekend, so jumping into the cold water was the perfect way to cool off. We had a lot of fun swimming up the river, exploring deep pools, and even diving under some underwater arches. The water was freezing, but that made it even more exciting!

Bushcraft – April 2025

April’s campout took Troop 410 deep into the Texas Hill Country for a special Bushcraft Campout along the Pedernales River. The theme this month was all about surviving with minimal gear, and the Scouts got to put their skills to the test. We added a new twist to the usual bushcraft challenges—learning how to clean and prepare fish!

Camporee & High Adventure – March 2025

In March, Troop 410 headed out to Lost Pines Scout Camp in Bastrop for this year’s Camporee! This is always a fun campout because we get to meet a bunch of Scouts from other Troops and take part in all kinds of games and activities.

Patrol Campouts – February 2025

February was all about patrol bonding and learning more about what makes our Troop work. Instead of a big group campout, each patrol planned their own special activity. Some patrols chose to go camping and work on rank advancement, while others stayed local and had a video game and pizza night. It was awesome to see each patrol do something that fit their style. Whether it was spending time around a fire or battling it out in Mario Kart, everyone had fun and made great memories with their patrol.

Backpacking – Inks Lake – January 2025

Troop 410 kicked off the new year with a Backpacking Campout at Inks Lake State Park. This trip was all about learning and practicing backpacking skills—from choosing the right gear to packing it properly and cooking in the backcountry. Scouts got to hike across the park and experience some awesome backcountry campsites on Saturday night.

Archery & Swimming – September 2024

The 2024 September campout took place at Lost Pines and was focused on Archery and Swimming. Multiple scouts received merit badges. Corbin received the camping merit badge, and William, Zane, Ricky, and Josh received the swimming merit badge.

Summer Camp – 2024

This summer, our troop ventured to the scenic mountains of New Mexico to Gorham Scout Ranch, just north of Santa Fe, for an action-packed week of summer camp. The high-altitude setting provided a stunning backdrop for a week filled with achievement and adventure. Over the course of the camp, five scouts advanced to new ranks, 70 merit badges were completed, and 43 partial merit badges were earned. The scouts also dedicated several hours to conservation work, contributing to the preservation of the beautiful surroundings they were enjoying.
