Who we Are

Our Mission

Since 1956, Troop 410 has been serving the Austin community. Our mission is to prepare young men for the challenges they will face in their lifetimes, by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Troop 410 offers responsible fun and outdoor adventure, education in citizenship, service, and leadership; and to serve our community and families through a quality, values-based program.

Our Objective

Our Troop’s objective is to assist boys as they grow into young men:

Prepare for lives of responsibility and leadership
Acquire knowledge and develop critical thinking and develop problem-solving skills as part of a team
Become experienced in camping, backpacking, and outdoor skills and practices that preserve nature
Produce young men who are committed to making a difference in their communities.

Fun. Adventure. Advancement.

Our Scouts are highly motivated and eager to rapidly advance through Scouting. Advancement is a natural outcome of providing the Scouts with opportunities in which they can develop into young men and future leaders.

At Troop 410, there is something for every interest: monthly campouts, service projects, special events, and BSA sponsored activities. Our scouts fly, canoe, climb, rappel, fish, hike, backpack, and bike ride on fun adventures! These activities prepare our scouts for the ultimate fun: High Adventure Trips including  Backpacking at Philmont and Big Bend, White Water Rafting, and Sailing the Caribbean at Sea Base. Eligibility to attend High Adventure camps is subject to minimum age and rank requirements and other rules set by the BSA and the Troop.
