Patrol Campouts
Troop 410 Report – Patrol Campouts & Mulch Madness (February 2025)
February was all about patrol bonding and learning more about what makes our Troop work. Instead of a big group campout, each patrol planned their own special activity. Some patrols chose to go camping and work on rank advancement, while others stayed local and had a video game and pizza night. It was awesome to see each patrol do something that fit their style. Whether it was spending time around a fire or battling it out in Mario Kart, everyone had fun and made great memories with their patrol.
Troop Meetings – Leadership, Skills, and Teamwork
This month’s meetings focused a lot on learning about Troop leadership roles. Scouts stepped up to give presentations about their positions and how they help keep everything running smoothly. We heard from the Scribe, Quartermaster, Instructor, Chaplain’s Aide, Historian, Librarian, Den Chiefs, and more. There were also great presentations on the Patrol Method and Outdoor Ethics, which helped everyone get ready to lead more confidently.
We also practiced some hands-on skills. Wyatt gave a demo on fire starting, which got everyone fired up (literally), and we finished the month with a fun game called Nitro Transport, which was part of a lesson on Disability Awareness led by Scoutmaster Polega. Plus, we got in some good lashing practice with a demo by Den and Ollie, which will come in handy for our next Bushcraft campout.
Planning for the Patrol Campouts was a big part of our meetings too. Patrols spent time coming up with ideas, organizing gear, and figuring out how to make their campouts fun and successful.
Mulch Delivery Fundraiser
And we can’t forget—February is mulch season! Our Troop completed its big annual Mulch Delivery fundraiser. It’s a lot of lifting, hauling, and hard work, but it helps fund all the awesome things we do all year. Best of all, the weather cooperated and it didn’t rain this time, which made the whole job go a lot smoother.
February was packed with learning, leading, planning, and teamwork. Troop 410 keeps getting stronger together, one meeting and one campout at a time.
