September 2024 Meetings and Lost Pines Archery/Swimming Campout
The 2024 September campout took place at Lost Pines and was focused on Archery and Swimming. Multiple scouts received merit badges. Corbin received the camping merit badge, and William, Zane, Ricky, and Josh received the swimming merit badge.
The most memorable part of the campout was when all of the scouts started fighting over a ball in the pool area. The most memorable part of the campfire was when Mr. Polega made a gen alpha version of the Scout Law. The troop also did many conservation projects such as maintenance, clearing brush, and cleaning a broken walk-in freezer.
Our Troop meetings this month covered several topics, including scouting skills and the kickoff of our annual popcorn fundraiser. Our troop guides, Jack of the Fusion Patrol and Oscar of the Viper Patrol shared about water safety since we planned to spend a lot of time in the pool cooling off. Harlan of the Cyclops Patrol presented about Hot Weather Camping since we knew the temperatures for our campout would be close to 100 degrees. Harlan also demonstrated lashings to the troop in preparation for our October campout.
