Caving campout
CAving Campout – January 2024
January, Troop 410 embarked on an unforgettable weekend at Inks Lake State Park, filled with outdoor adventures and team-building experiences. The scouts enjoyed classic camping fun—setting up tents, cooking meals over the fire, and exploring the beautiful trails that surround the lake. The weather was perfect, and the scenic views of the lake and rugged Hill Country terrain provided the perfect backdrop for hiking and bonding with fellow scouts.
The highlight of the weekend was the Spelunking Wild Cave Tour at Longhorn Cavern State Park. Our scouts suited up for an exciting, off-grid caving experience that took them far beyond the usual public tours. Crawling on their bellies through trenches, squeezing through narrow crevices, and scrambling through rocky tunnels, the scouts faced challenges that tested their physical endurance and teamwork skills. This tour wasn’t just a walk in the park—it was a true adventure that gave the boys a chance to explore behind-the-scenes areas of the cave, pushing their limits and conquering fears.
The weekend was more than just fun; it was a chance for the scouts to grow, learn, and support each other in an exciting, hands-on environment. They left Inks Lake with new skills, stronger friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. A big thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped make this campout a success!
