District Camporee: A Weekend of Fun, Competition, and Teamwork

In February, our troop participated in the District Camporee, an exciting weekend where multiple scout troops came together to showcase their skills, compete in friendly challenges, and enjoy the camaraderie of the scouting community. The camporee was filled with fun scout activities, a bit of competition, and lots of opportunities for teamwork. Our troop had a blast running a superhero-themed station, where scouts from various troops brainstormed their best superhero powers, designed their look, and then brought them to life using random supplies and plenty of duct tape! Creativity was on full display as scouts collaborated and strategized, proving that imagination and teamwork can truly make anything possible.

Beyond the superhero station, the weekend was packed with other highlights, including a lively campfire program. Each troop took to the stage to perform their best skits, filling the night with laughter and applause. It was a great reminder of the fun and friendships that scouting brings, as scouts cheered each other on and shared in the joy of the moment.

The camporee ended on a reflective note with a solemn flag retirement ceremony, a moving tradition that honors our nation’s symbol in a respectful and meaningful way. As the scouts gathered around, they were reminded of the importance of the values we hold dear—patriotism, respect, and service. It was a powerful close to a weekend filled with learning, laughter, and memorable experiences. A big thank you to all the scouts, leaders, and parents who helped make this camporee one for the books!
